WHO IS

YEHOUDA AVIKZAR

Eli Avikzar (1947–2004) was one of the key figures in the development of Krav Maga, the Israeli self-defense system. He was a close student and later partner of Imi Lichtenfeld, the founder of Krav Maga. Together, they worked to further develop the system and adapt it to the needs of both the Israeli military and the civilian population.

Eli Avikzar was the first student to receive the rank of expert (1st Dan black belt) in Krav Maga from Imi, and he played a crucial role in spreading and standardizing the techniques. Later, he founded his own organization, the "Israeli Krav Maga Association" (IKMA), and was instrumental in making Krav Maga known worldwide.

His son, Grandmaster 10.Dan Yehouda Avikzar, continues his father's legacy. Yehouda now runs the Krav Maga school in Netanya, which was founded by Imi Lichtenfeld in 1978, preserving the traditions and techniques developed by Eli and Imi. Together with Grandmaster 10.Dan Yehouda Avikzar, Eli Avikzar's legacy remains alive and continues to inspire the global Krav Maga community.
